Pondering

Here are some articles from this past week that you might be interested in reading…

1.     Spurgeon on the “reproach” of believer’s baptism…

As we approach our Sunday gathering that will be opened by baptism, I thought it good to be encouraged by one of our cherished doctrines of the Baptist faith; Believer’s Baptism.  Here is a quote from a famous preacher, Charles Spurgeon, on the very topic, which still holds today!

2.     Why Christians should sing with their spouse…

Here is a short bit of encouragement to married couples, or even to single couples as you look towards marriage.  Sing together!  Why?  Click the link and see.

3.     Moms, home, pinterest, and the daily struggle to love God’s word…

Here is some encouragement for the moms out there.  I found it to be very practical and real, and it is from a fellow mom in the struggle.

4.     The missing elements of modern worship…

This is not the normal listing of things wrong with those “modern” worship groups, but instead, a Biblical look at what worship should include.  It is a good reminder.  These are wonderful elements that the Lord intended to be a part of our gatherings for the nourishment of our souls.

5.     Why youth stay in church when they grow up…

Here is an article i liked a lot.  There are a lot of statistics out there about numbers of students that leave a church upon graduation and a lot of opinions as to how to fix the problem.  This article does a wonderful, Biblical, approach to really addressing the issue.
